We lost dear Albert (who looked ALOT like Muffin) last year after 19 years. After anietdtng law school, she became a litigator, patent prosecutor and Fortune 500 IP lawyer. At least she did all of these things by osmosis: she slept on more legal documents than I ever read. RIP Muffin and Albert.

Bobby and family, I offer my coenclenods on the loss of your mother. She was a true legend in Fountain City and Halls. I remember her from PTA when we attended school together. Most of all, Bobby, I believe she was the proudest of you and your family. You did a great job taking care of your mom! She was a great example for females and that they could be leaders too! Ah, one of the few pleasures of being Jewish.1- only a plain pine box is apctceable. Or, just the body and a kittle. No upselling there!2- no protective anything. Decay away is the rule of the day.3- this is a bit tricky. Most of the original Jewish funeral homes have been bought by the major vendor (to steal from Click and Clack- Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe) And, the Orthodox do not allow one to deal with such vendors. So, it's just your local rabbi and the cemetery with which one must deal.4- see 2. No embalming allowed. And, you don't need to be embalmed to move from state to state. My dad died in Florida, as did my mom. They were transported (now, there's a great story for another day) to New York City for the immediate internment.5- my parents did that. And, the perpetual care? Kind of like the safety net that certain politicians are trying to remove from our society- t'ain't there, no more! (I did sign a contract for myself, once- but then the cemetery was acquired by Dewey, Cheatem and Howe, and I was able to obtain a full and complete refund (no interest, but still )6- this is why I recommend my clients retain our services for their estates (big, small, or in-between). We know their wishes. We have no emotional issues that the funeral home/cemetery personnel can indulge. Consider that for yourselves. (It's our job to insure the heirs get more than the short hairs!)7- no cremation allowed. I will tell you that my friend cremated his dad and collected his ashes in his favorite golf bag, which was then buried at a military site .8- see 6.Great post, Stanton!!! Keep up the good work.
